The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced its plan to publish a finalized set of rules for regulating the crypto industry in 2026. The FCA issued two press releases—one detailing a series of roundtables held this year to gather information to shape crypto regulation, and another outlining how crypto ownership has continued to rise in the UK. The FCA stated that a series of discussion papers and consultations will begin as soon as this quarter to develop rules regarding market abuse, trading platforms, lending, and stablecoins, among other areas.
