DOJ Seizes $9 Million in Tether from Scam Organization
The Justice Department announced the seizure of nearly $9 million worth of Tether from a crypto scam organization. According to DOJ, the organization exploited over 70 victims through romance scams and crypto confidence scams, widely known as "pig butchering." Tether also froze $225 million in USDT tokens at the request of the US Secret Service to aid the investigation.

SEC Sues Kraken
The SEC sued crypto exchange Kraken for allegedly failing to register with the agency as a securities exchange, broker, dealer, and clearing agency, while taking in billions of dollars in fees and trading revenue. The SEC's complaint also alleges that Kraken commingles its costumers' money with its own, including paying operational expenses directly from accounts that hold customer cash. Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) tweeted a statement criticizing the SEC’s lawsuit.

DOJ to Hold Press Conference on Crypto Enforcement Actions
Attorney General Merrick Garland is scheduled to hold a press conference at 3 PM on November 21 to announce “separate but related cryptocurrency enforcement actions,” according to the Justice Department. The announcement will involve the proposed $4 billion settlement with Binance.

DOJ Seeks $4 Billion to End Binance Investigation
The Justice Department is seeking more than $4 billion from Binance Holdings Ltd. to end a years-long criminal investigation into the exchange. The proposed deal between DOJ and Binance includes the possibility that founder Changpeng Zhao would face criminal charges in the US to resolve the probe into alleged money laundering, bank fraud, and sanctions violations.
