Deputy Treasury Secretary Speaks at Blockchain Association Annual Summit

Rep. Hill Says House to Vote on Crypto Legislation Next Year

Treasury Asks Congress for New Powers to Combat Illicit Crypto Activity
Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo wrote a letter to Senate Banking Chair Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Ranking Member Tim Scott (R-SC), as well as House Financial Services Chair Patrick McHenry (R-NC) and Ranking Member Maxine Waters (D-CA), asking Congress to grant the Treasury Department new power to go after crypto and fintech platforms used by militant organizations like Hamas. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said in an interview that Congress must respond with a comprehensive bill to give Treasury the tools it needs.

HFSC Chair Reportedly Holding Up NDAA Amid Crypto Policy Clash
Senate Banking Chair Sherrod Brown (D-OH) told reporters that House Financial Services Chair Patrick McHenry (R-NC) is holding up finance provisions under consideration in the FY 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) amid a clash over crypto policy. Judge Approves Voyager Digital Settlement with FTC

Woods approved a settlement ordering bankrupt crypto lender Voyager Digital and its ex-CEO Stephen Ehrlich to pay $1.65 billion for misleading investors about the safety of their money prior to the firm’s collapse. The settlement marks the end of the FTC's lawsuit against Voyager Digital and Stephen Ehrlich.
